Fast-forward 12 years to Ashland, Oregon. The softer glass being used at Gathering Glass Studio made it impossible to replicate the effects seen in the earlier works.

After much trial and error, I achieved a similar process and the Grand Canyon Series was reincarnated as the Geology Series.

By this time, I had become very fond of the desert in Eastern Oregon. The earthy, monochromatic amber coloring was inspired by the arid sagebrush country.
